Who this applies to

This site is published by Dr. Kester I. H. Crosse II, MD, alongside the book Open Doors (TIA Publishing, LLC). It applies to everything at this address.

What stays on your device

Nothing on this site currently saves what you type. The TEEE Score is worked out on the page in front of you and is not stored unless you choose to email it to yourself. Earlier versions of the site kept workbook progress in your browser's local storage; if you used those tools, that data is still sitting in your own browser, was never transmitted to us, and clearing your browser data deletes it.

The site can be installed as an app, in which case your browser caches pages for offline reading. That is a copy of the site, not a record of you — it is not a cookie, it does not identify you, and it is not used for advertising.

What you send us on purpose

Four forms on this site send a message by email. Each one is submitted only when you choose to submit it:

• Signed copy requests — your name, email, edition, quantity, destination country, and any inscription or note you add.
• Bulk order quotes — your name, work email, organisation, phone if given, quantity, edition, delivery date, payment method, purchase-order number and tax-exempt status.
• Speaking enquiries — your name, email, organisation, phone if given, event date, audience size, budget range, format, location and message.
• Your TEEE Score by email — your email address and the four scores you set.

These are delivered to us as email using Resend, an email delivery provider. They are not written to a database, not added to any marketing list, and not sold or shared with anyone. They are used to answer you, and kept in the ordinary course of correspondence.

Please do not send payment card details, government identifiers, or health information through these forms. Nothing here needs them, and there is no facility to handle them.

Payments

No payment is ever taken on this site. Every purchase link sends you to Amazon, which handles the transaction under its own terms and privacy policy. Signed and bulk copies are quoted by email and paid for separately — you are told the total before anything is charged.

Analytics

This site counts page views, and sets no cookies to do it. Analytics are provided by Vercel, who host the site, so the counting happens on the same domain you are already visiting rather than being handed to a third party. No cookie is written, nothing is stored on your device, and you are not followed from here to any other website.

What is recorded is the page, roughly where in the world the request came from, and what kind of device and browser it was. That is aggregate: it is not tied to you, it does not build a profile, and it cannot be traced back to an individual. It is never sold and never used for advertising. Because no cookie is involved and nothing identifies you, there is no consent banner to click through.

Outbound links to Amazon may carry an affiliate tag, which tells Amazon the visit came from here. Amazon's own privacy policy governs what happens after you follow one of those links.

Data we display from elsewhere

Book metadata and cover images on the further-reading shelf come from Open Library, the Internet Archive's open catalogue, but are stored and served from this site — your browser makes no request to them.

The watch page embeds a podcast episode that plays from YouTube, and YouTube may set cookies once it loads — so nothing from YouTube is loaded until you press play. Until then the card is a still image stored here, not fetched from Google, and it says what pressing play will do before you press it. Playing it is the only way this site ever hands your visit to a third party, and it is your choice to make.

Young people

This site is written for college students, recent graduates and early-career professionals. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information through a form, contact us and it will be deleted.

Your choices

• Ask what we hold — if you have written to us, you can ask for a copy of that correspondence or ask us to delete it.
• Use the site without sending anything — the assessment and every page work without submitting a form.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
